🇺🇸 In celebration of America’s 250th anniversary this summer, Mrs. Morrell encouraged her 4th grade students to participate in a national contest by creating artwork or writing an essay answering the question, “What America Means to Me.” Five students accepted the challenge and submitted original drawings showcasing their creativity and patriotism. We’re so proud of their willingness to share their talents and represent our school! ❤️🤍💙 #KingLions #America250

During the Florida Summer Conference, Group 3 of our teaching staff experienced the High Reliability Schools framework firsthand. They returned with expanded knowledge, refined skills, and a stronger commitment to doing the "right" work that has the greatest impact on student learning. #ExpandingourROAR #CouragetoLearn #KingElementary

Our Summer Kinder Camp was a wonderful way to kick off the journey to kindergarten! ☀️📚
This week, incoming kindergarteners who were able to participate joined us for a two-day camp filled with learning, exploration, and fun. Students got a head start on some of the activities they'll enjoy during the school year, including creating with Play-Doh, building with blocks, painting, and using markers.
Campers learned about our daily morning meetings, listened to engaging read-aloud stories, met their kindergarten teachers, and even had the chance to make connections with some of their future classmates.
We loved getting to know these future students and can't wait to welcome them back for an amazing kindergarten year! ❤️🍎✨

Our summer school students had an amazing opportunity this year! 🏊☀️
Thanks to funding provided by the Davis School District School Board, our students enjoyed two weeks of swim lessons at Layton Surf n' Swim. During their lessons, they learned valuable swimming skills, water safety techniques, and gained confidence in the water.
A huge thank you to the instructors and staff at Layton Surf n' Swim for sharing their time, expertise, and enthusiasm with our students. We are so grateful for this partnership and for helping our kids build skills that can last a lifetime! 💙🌊

Our teachers had an incredible time at the Davis School District Summer R&R Conference, exploring new ideas, strategies, and opportunities for growth. From engaging language arts and math sessions to creative ways to incorporate movement into the classroom, our educators embraced every opportunity to learn and collaborate.
One of the biggest takeaways and reminders? The importance of building strong relationships that help every student feel connected, supported, and ready to succeed. ❤️
We're excited to bring these new adventures in learning back to our classrooms and continue creating meaningful experiences for our students. The journey continues, and we can't wait to see where it leads!

During their STEM class, 5th graders got a little egg-cited while learning about density! 🥚🧪 Students tested eggs in water to see if they would sink or float, then added salt and sugar to discover how changing the water affected the results. There were lots of predictions, surprises, and hands-on science fun! 🔬✨
Ask your student what happened to the egg when the water changed! 👀
