🎨 Creativity is in full swing during BTS Arts! Mrs. Wood has been bringing art to every grade with fun projects that connect to our CKLA Language Arts program—and we love seeing our students bring their learning to life! ✨ Mr. Hansen’s 4th graders explored lines, shapes, and patterns as they created their own illuminated manuscripts. 🎭 Mr. Gunnerson’s 3rd graders designed and assembled personified characters to help bring a story to life. 🌈 And Mrs. NeVille’s kindergarteners got creative with color-chain snakes that connect to their learning about the five senses. From colorful creations to storytelling through art, our students are learning, creating, and having a whole lot of fun along the way! 📚🔐 Locking in to unlock reading potential! 🔓📖 Miss Berrett’s second graders have set their goals and are taking ownership of their reading growth! These great students chose their own ways to help them reach their class goal and gave committed some of the following strategies to help them: reading multiple nights a week, completing at least one monthly PTA bookmark, reading to a stuffed animal or pet, or cozying up with their family for some reading time. 🧸🐶 Every book, every page, and every night of reading helps grow skills one word and one book at a time. 🌱📚✨ These readers are locked in and ready to unlock their potential! 🔐➡️🔓

In remembrance of 9/11 Mrs. Morrell's 5th grade class read “The Man in the Red Bandana”. This book is about a man who saved people in the twin towers and wore his red bandana to cover his mouth. They talked about how they could serve those around them and then went to lunch with first grade to help them at House lunch. Their class was SO excited to be helpers! #Team5thGrade #KingLions

5th Day of School Fun! Mrs. Campbell’s 5th graders celebrated the 5th day of school with some seriously fun challenges! They got moving with 55 jumping jacks, showed off 54 different silly faces 😂, and had plenty of laughs along the way! And the fun didn’t stop there! Their hard work earned them a Pajama & Reading Party complete with cozy blankets, favorite books, and blanket forts! 🧸📖 What a fun way to make the 5th day one to remember! 💛💙✨ #Team5thGrade #KingLions

🧠Creativity is taking shape in 3rd grade! Ms. Ferris’ 3rd graders got creative with pipe cleaners during STEM this week, turning simple materials into some seriously fun sculptures! We love seeing their imagination at play.

🎨Our House Leaders are back at it! Some of our student leaders joined Mrs. Wanlass to decorate the sidewalk and create a warm, colorful welcome for everyone returning to school. 🎉 Our school spirit is growing—one yard sign at a time! 🦁💙💛 As our teachers visit families for beginning-of-the-year home visits, students/families are receiving their very own yard sign featuring this year's school theme: ✨ Expanding our R.O.A.R. with the Courage to Learn ✨ Throughout the school year, each month will focus on a special theme during our House Meetings. Students will earn a themed sticker to add to their yard sign as they continue expanding their R.O.A.R. all year long! We can't wait to see these signs proudly displayed throughout our community. Ms. Johnson and Ms. Swinyard joined several other volunteers at the annual District Child Spree event, sponsored by the DSD Foundation. In partnership with Kohl's, the event helps provide students with the clothing and school essentials they need to start the new school year with confidence and the tools for success.

Our summer camp students went on an adventure! 🐠🌊🐢 They had an unforgettable day exploring the Living Planet Aquarium! From colorful fish and playful penguins to fascinating reptiles and majestic sharks, they learned about animals from around the world and the unique habitats they call home. 🦈🐧🐍 Hands-on learning outside the classroom helps spark curiosity and creates lasting memories. What a fun way to discover the wonders of our planet! 💙🌎

This summer, we're sharing some of the programs, traditions and experiences that help make Davis School District schools unique.

Today we're featuring King Elementary.

The adventures continue long after the school year ends at King Elementary. Last summer, staff members take their classroom "gators" along on their travels, sharing where they go and bringing a little King Elementary spirit wherever their adventures take them.

Some of our amazing staff had the opportunity to attend the Show Up for Utah Teachers Conference hosted by Abby Cox! 🌟 Throughout the conference, they participated in inspiring sessions focused on finding their focus, reflecting on their teaching practices, and identifying meaningful ways to grow in their classrooms. We love seeing our educators invest in their professional learning and bring back fresh ideas, new strategies, and renewed inspiration to benefit our students. We can't wait to see these ideas come to life in their classrooms! 🍎📚
